Agree or Disagree

I still remember watching the draft the year Joe Flacco was picked in the first round. And the next year when Rex Ryan left Baltimore and went to coach in New York. Now both teams tried to use the same general concept, build a great defense and hope that the young quarterback can hold it together enough to get the win. I honestly hate that teams think this is a blueprint for winning and had to write about it.

I just saw Mel Kiper saying since the Ravens now have all these threats at receiver and Flacco is so good the AFC champion Steelers need corner help to stop the Ravens. Funny because they won the division in which both teams are in. And its obvious that the Ravens would make the playoffs every year with or without Flacco. They are actually known for their defense winning them games.

Here are some players taken after Flacco in the 08 draft. Chris Johnson, Rashard Mendenhall, Brandon Flowers, Curtis Lofton(led the league in tackling as a rookie), Desean Jackson, and Jamaal Charles. Obviously more people were taken but these are people I think are better than him as a player.

After seeing what we've seem would you trade up in a draft to get Joe Flacco with these players on the board?

Patriots trying to keep pace with AFC East rival Jets, as they add depth on defense. . .

The New England Patriots inked DL Marcus Stroud to a 2 year deal. Where he'll play on there line is still unknown. And the Patriots haven't officially announced the move, but he did accept congratulation messages from friends and ex-teammates on his twitter yesterday.

Packers making moves, or refinancing?

Packers cut LB A.J. Hawk today. He has a 10.5 million dollar raise in his contract and could very well rework his deal for a smaller amount.
What's weird to me is that by doing this they are leaving the option of other teams contacting him. There are plenty of contenders that run the 3-4 scheme who wouldn't hesitate to pay big money to solidify there defenses. The Jets come to mind, especially because of the way they are now stocking up on big name and play type players.

Jets still making moves with lockout looming. . .

Bob Sanders is visiting today with the New York Jets. The former Colt has already visited Jacksonville and Buffalo.

Are the New York Jets turning into the Yankees of the NFL? They are constantly trying to fix things that aren't quite broke. Releasing a productive group of players like Damien Woody, Jason Taylor, and Kris Jenkins to go out and get yet another name. Sanders was a great player in his prime. But after a season in which they fell short of their lofty expectations they feel the moves are necessary.

The NFL: A Billion Dollar Pie

"This ruling means there is irrefutable evidence owners had a premeditated plan to lockout players and fans for more than two years."

This is a quote from the NFL Players Association. After knowing this there are now a few things we as the general public know. The owners of our respective teams have absolutely no respect for what we actually mean to the game. They said that whether there was a season or not they planned on collecting money from the television networks. Basically they don't think they need a season to make money.

Either the Players Association will either take this to court, a court that has already ruled it wrong for the owners to get paid from the networks without a season. Or the current CBA will be extended. Hopefully the owners realize that regardless of the fact that they are rich, powerful, and can very easily take away a sport that's gained popularity when all others have already had work stoppages doesn't mean they should over the players getting a very small slice of their billion dollar pie.

Saints were busy today before the league shuts down. They reached a deal with K Garrett Hartley. And a one year deal with DT Shaun Rogers as well.
